Designing Relaxing Worlds

Our Work on Animal Companion Game Assets

Creating cozy and comforting game experiences takes more than just cute characters. It’s about building an entire world that feels warm, welcoming, and full of personality. That’s exactly what our team set out to do when we were brought on to design assets for a relaxing pet/animal companion game.

While we can’t name the title just yet, we’re proud to share the process behind the work and what went into bringing this calm, animal-filled universe to life.

What We Worked On

The scope of this project included a wide range of game assets, such as:

  • Concept art and UI assets

  • Adorable animal companions

  • Calm and colorful environments

  • Cosmetic items, furniture, toys and buildings

We collaborated closely with developers to make sure the visual direction matched the game’s tone: soft, soothing, and emotionally engaging.

Bringing GOGY-Inspired Charm into the Game

One of our lead artists took inspiration from their original character, GOGY (which the developers saw and liked the design direction of). That sense of charm and visual softness carried over into many of the animal designs and overall art direction.

The goal was to create companions that were not only cute but also had a sense of personality and comfort. That meant focusing on simple shapes, soft colors, and friendly animations that felt relaxing to look at and interact with.

The Design Process

Every asset began with sketches and concept art before moving into modeling and texture painting. We made sure to keep performance in mind—keeping assets lightweight and game-ready while still looking great.

Our pipeline included:

  • Concept and design approval

  • Low-poly modeling for optimization

  • Hand-painted textures for a cozy, stylized look

  • Rigging and animation support (where required)

We worked in close communication with the developers throughout, adjusting the details until everything felt just right.
